Quovo’s Expense Analysis endpoints present a comprehensive picture of spending activity for an account or a user. With Expense Analysis, you can get a clear sense of expense patterns, such as which expense streams are fixed, flexible, or discretionary. Leveraging Quovo’s data analytics and proprietary modeling, Expense Analysis goes beyond basic spending trackers to more intelligently organize and evaluate transactions. The Expense Analysis bundle includes two endpoints:
/expense_transactions. Together, these two endpoints provide you with a holistic expense profile for accounts and users.
/expensesendpoint is designed to provide a well-organized summary of spending activity. Our expense summary breaks down spending patterns into different streams . Expense streams cluster together similar transactions based on their frequency, size, and memo details. These streams are also ranked by how much they contribute to your user’s expenses.
/expense_transactionsendpoint returns all of the expense transactions that comprise the streams summarized in the
/expensesendpoint. Each transaction is coupled with the id of its relevant stream. The data in this endpoint helps you understand how Quovo identified and assessed the expense streams in our expense summary. The
/expense_transactionsendpoints are only available for “checking” and “credit card” account types. Both of the endpoints are available at the user and the account level. You can combine these endpoints with the Income Evaluation endpoints to build a complete view of cash flow.
